Chewy Fudge Brownie Recipe

This recipe creates rich, chewy, and fudgy brownies with a deep chocolate flavor. Perfect for any chocolate lover!

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter: 150g (about 10 tablespoons)
  • Granulated sugar: 200g (1 cup)
  • Brown sugar: 100g (1/2 cup, packed)
  • Cocoa powder: 75g (3/4 cup, unsweetened)
  • All-purpose flour: 65g (1/2 cup)
  • Large eggs: 3
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate: 100g (optional for extra fudginess)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line an 8x8 inch (20x20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
  2. Melt the butter and cocoa powder
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 150g of unsalted butter. Once melted, stir in 75g of cocoa powder until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Mix the sugars and wet ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together 200g of granulated sugar, 100g of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Add the melted butter-cocoa mixture to the sugars and mix until well combined.
Beat in the 3 eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition. The mixture should become smooth and shiny.
  4. Add the dry ingredients
Sift together 65g of all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula. Be careful not to overmix—the batter should just come together.
For extra fudginess, fold in 100g of dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate.
  5. Bake the brownies
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. The brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs but not wet batter. The center should be slightly underbaked for a fudgy texture.
  6. Cool and cut
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan. Once cool, lift them out using the parchment paper overhang, and cut into squares.

Tips for Perfect Fudgy Brownies:

  • Don’t overbake: Keep an eye on the brownies, as overbaking will make them cakey rather than fudgy.
  • Chill before cutting: For cleaner cuts and a denser texture, refrigerate the brownies for about 30 minutes before slicing.

Enjoy your rich, chewy fudge brownies!
