Pork Curry Recipe
Hello! Today, I’m introducing a Korean style pork curry recipe using flavorful pork hind leg meat. This is a simple dish with easy-to-find ingredients, so anyone can make it. Let’s make some delicious curry at home!
Ingredients
- 300 grams of pork hind leg meat
- 10 cups (1.8L) of water
- 2 whole onions
- 1/4 of a carrot
- 2 tablespoons of ketchup
- 1/4 cup of cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of butter
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Dice the onions, carrot, and pork hind leg meat. Chop the pork fat separately into small pieces. Cut the pork into large cubes and the carrot into smaller pieces.
- Prepare the frying pan: Heat a deep frying pan over high heat and add cooking oil.
- Fry the pork fat: Add the chopped pork fat to the pan and fry it until it becomes golden and crispy.
- Fry the meat: Once the fat is crispy, add the pork hind leg meat and fry it until it gets a nice brown crust.
- Add onions and fry: When the pork is browned, add the onions and fry them lightly until they turn golden.
- Add carrots: Once the onions are browned, add the carrots and stir-fry them together.
- Add seasoning: Move the ingredients to the sides of the pan and add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of ketchup to the center. Stir-fry the sauce until the tangy flavor evaporates.
- Add water: When the seasoning starts to stick to the pan, pour in the water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Let it simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Add curry powder: When about half of the water has evaporated, slowly add curry powder while stirring to adjust the thickness.
- Finish: Once the curry reaches the desired consistency, turn off the heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of butter.
TIP
- Water adjustment: Depending on the type of pan and heat level, the amount of evaporated water can vary. Add 1.8 liters of water and let it simmer until half of it evaporates. Then, add one packet of curry powder for the perfect flavor.
- Using solid curry: Using solid curry instead of curry powder will result in an even richer flavor.
- Tomato option: Instead of ketchup, you can use tomato juice or fresh tomatoes to create a deeper taste.
- Adding curry powder: To avoid mistakes, don’t add all the curry powder at once. Add it little by little while stirring to adjust the consistency.
Enjoy making your own delicious pork curry!
